Utility Gauges

What is a utility pressure gauge?

Utility gauges are the most basic and least expensive of the bourdon tube pressure gauge family. They are typically dry pressure gauges (meaning the case is not liquid filled), have a steel or ABS plastic case, an acrylic lens, and are Grade B accuracy ( ±3-2-3% ).  The copper alloy wetted parts  are normally used on water, oil, and air, but are not rated for aggressive media or chemicals. Dial sizes include 1.5”, 2”, 2.5”, 3.5”, & 4” and pressure measurement ranges from 30” Hg vacuum to 5000 PSI -  although only certain specific pressure ranges are available in the USA.

Utility pressure gauges are used for steady pressure applications where relative readings rather than precise measurement is required. For instance, whether the steady pressure in your hydraulic air line is 100 or 101 is not as important as if it drops to 70.
